Author

Sam McCarter's teaching career spans a period of more than 30 years, starting in Sierra Leone in West Africa as a volunteer. He has taught a wide range of subjects covering IELTS, Latin, basic literacy, academic English and ESP, specializing in teaching English for Medical Purposes (EMP) and English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) in the medical field. Barry Cusack has been a teacher of English for 30 years, in the UK, France and Spain. He has been an examiner for the IELTS Speaking Module and taught IELTS courses for many years, most recently with the Bell Schools. He has written a number of books for learners in the Middle East as well as being co-author of Improve your IELTS: Listening and Speaking. His primary interest now is in Speaking Skills: how teachers can improve the standard of their students' performance in speaking and how the students can learn to speak more intelligibly. He strongly believes, also, that fun is an important part of language learning.
